The "You deserve a better browser" argument is all about privacy which doesn't bother me.
It's actually become better recently with the 'google lens' thing built in which is pretty handy. It's also pretty good at translation which I find other browsers are clunky for.
I wonder re privacy if there are any examples at all, out of the billions of users, of a real person being harmed by Google knowing their browsing habits?

I am harmed continiously by the invasion of my private life ,conducted in my own home, or work place, and this is while not useing any google products by choice.Time, economic limitations, and gaps in utilities, such as "The Nova Scotia Map Book", which was published and contained every named street in Nova Scotia, large heavy, but complete. It is no longer published, and the official tourist hanf out map of Nova Scotia, has a disclaimer, stating that any inacuracies, should be taken up with, google.
I refuse to be tracted and fed adds, but indpite of all efforts, I am bombarded with targeted adds every time I am forced to use an "on label" browser.
I find that it has become so invasive that I will now buy a phone that will be set up.to do those nesescary things, but
will have nothing personal on it, or be used for general browsing, ever.
So three phones, #1 with massive data and
calling package and very minimal other stuff #2 with some data, and calling, but lots of open source apps, and soon #3 which will have minimal data and phone but
hold the big tech apps that I wish to contain. Also looking at a test phone for eos, and other android based os's that ditch google completely, or sort of more
polished attempts to help choose my own feed.
