There's also Nectarine Demoscene Radio: https://www.scenestream.net/demovibes/

Yeah to me that was (or is) THE demoscene radio channel. Great quality.

I can recommend Rainwave, which comes with a lovely community: https://rainwave.cc/chiptune/

I browsed the website but I could not find a simple url I can put into my radio player. It appears the only way to listen is either on the website or twitch[.].tv which seems to defeat the point of a radio stream.

I was able to extract the audio URL track via yt-dlp. Ifyou also add ffmpeg, a FIFO and soco-cli in the mix I was able to play it back on my Sonos speaker, although I had to jump a lot of hoops to curb the HLS stream into a standard shoutcast/icecast URL stream. All of that to end into a bland chiptunes radio, not worth all that effort

Feedback is welcome.

Love how most of the comments are all "here's something that's different/better than what you shared" instead of appreciation. Show HN should be motivating instead of one-upmanship.

Most of the time what we call listening is just our way of waiting for our turn. Paraphrasing some smart person.

A different smart person once taught me that the most interesting and effective conversation is one where you speak only using questions. If you're curious then questions are natural, if you want to argue, then questions are a masterfully manipulative form...

Its hard to do

Are there any music festivals for chiptune? Something like Bonaroo but computer music, or the closest thing because I don't think something like this actually exists
bsammon 3 days ago [-]
There was Blip Festival in New York, 15 to 20 years ago. As I had family in the area, I went to most of them.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blip_Festival

After Blip Festival NY stopped, there were some other festivals and festival-ish events in other cities that were not as convenient to me, so I stopped following as closely.

Omg, I haven't heard any MOD music in decades, and now I'm instantly addicted to listening to it again! Thank you for the good memories!

For those like me that have surveillance capitalism services like Twitch blocked, try this completely FOSS alternative: https://watch.chiptune.fm/
