▲Meta's new terms say if its AI makes a mistake, it will be the customer's fault (cio.com)

I saw something similar in Google's ToS update that went out the other day:

> 13.2 Customer Indemnification Obligations. Customer will defend Google and its Affiliates providing the Services and indemnify them against Indemnified Liabilities in any Third-Party Legal Proceeding to the extent arising from (a) any Customer Application, Project, Customer Data, or Customer Brand Features; or (b) Customer's or an End User's use of the Services or AI Agents in breach of the AUP or Section 3.3 (Restrictions).

The problem is everyone seems to have forgotten that old adage "always check your sources." This is the same problem Wikipedia had - if you took things verbatim from there, and didn't check the sources, then the mistakes are indeed your fault.

Microsoft Windows EULA has a similar clause as well. Maybe not as broad, but if Windows screws up at a really inopportune moment and it harms people, you don't get to run after Microsoft about it.

So if your car brakes fail due to a manufacturing defect, it's your fault?

Claiming it's someone else's fault doesn't necessarily make it legally so.

Using any of Meta's products is your own bad decision, so yeah, your fault.
